
About Luke Ratcliffe
Dr. Luke Alexander Ratcliffe is a concert pianist, organist, composer, collaborator, and Co-Founder of Ratcliffe Music Studio alongside his wife, Kristina Ratcliffe. As an Armenian-American pianist, his cultural heritage and distinctive interpretive voice bring depth, nuance, and individuality to his performances and teaching.
Luke’s passion for sharing music has led to performances and collaborations across the United States and internationally. His repertoire spans the core classical canon, lesser-known masterworks, and contemporary music, with a particular commitment to championing underrepresented composers and new works. In addition to performing, he is actively engaged in lecturing, composing, transcribing, and other artistic projects.
Dr. Ratcliffe studied at Juilliard School and George Mason University for his undergraduate and master’s studies. He earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance, with a concentration in Piano Pedagogy, from the Cleveland Institute of Music under the mentorship of renowned pianist Antonio Pompa-Baldi.
Currently, Dr. Ratcliffe teaches individual and group piano lessons, presents master classes, and collaborates with musicians throughout the Washington, D.C. area at the Levine Music. He also maintains a growing private studio in Northern Virginia and is an active collaborative pianist and accompanist throughout the DMV region.
In addition to his teaching and performance career, Dr. Ratcliffe regularly collaborates with schools, universities, instrumentalists, and ensembles on chamber, solo, and orchestral projects.
